David G. "Pete" Maddison, 75, longtime resident of Lynnfield died unexpectedly Wednesday May 26 in Newburyport.He was a kind and loving husband to wife Carole, a devoted father, awesome grandfather, friend and advisor. Known as "Pappy" to his loved ones, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing on his boat, working on his house, and playing or watching sports.
Born in Melrose, he was the son of Arthur B. and Marian (Newhall) Maddison. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1952 and Boston University, Class of 1957, where he was a member of the A.K. PSI and the B. U. Hockey Team. He was the former owner of The Maddison Association in Revere and previously served on the Lynnfield Centre Water Board, Saugus Bank Board of Director and a former member of the Directors' Council.
Mr. Maddison is survived by his wife Carole (Jonah) Maddison, his six children; Sherry Maddison of Marblehead and her companion Michael Angeloni, Kimberly Morrissey and her husband Robert, Lori Parks and her husband Robert, Mark Maddison and his wife Asha all of Lynnfield, James Maddison and his wife Kana of Melrose, and Karen Faro and her husband James of Peabody, his brother Fred Maddison and his wife Phyllis of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Katie, Sean, and Kerry Morrissey, Kelly, Dusty, and Kenzie Parks, Nick and Mike Maddison and Ben and Sophia Faro and extended families of Jun and Tsunako Yamazaki of Stoneham and their children Karin and Junko, and Pich Hout of Hudson, NH.
A funeral service will be held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St, Lynnfield on Wednesday at 10am. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday 4-8pm. Interment will be private.
