Norman S. Stickney, Sr., 83, of Wakefield passed away at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital on Thursday May 26.
Born in Concord, NH, on October 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Thaddeus Stickney and Doris (Brewer) Stickney Gardiner.
Mr. Stickney was a long time resident of Wakefield and had graduated from Wakefield High School, class of 1945. He was a retired Bus Driver for Greyhound.
A member of both the Crystal Community Club and the Quannapowitt Yacht Club, Norman was an avid Hunter and Sailor who had an appreciation for Antiques. Mr. Stickney served in the Army during WWII.
Mr. Stickney was the husband of Patricia (Sheehan) Stickney. He was the father of Linda Stickney-Covell and her husband Gerry of ME, Laurence Stickney and his wife Barbara, Norman S. Stickney, Jr. and his wife Maryann all of Wakefield, Daniel Stickney and his wife Jenny of Sandwich, Martha Allen of Wakefield and also the late Richard Stickney. Norman was the brother of Marion Howe of NH and the late Laurence Stickney. Mr. Stickney is also survived by his 6 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crystal Community Club, 77 Preston St., Wakefield on Thursday, June 2 from 6-9pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield, MA 01880.
