Timothy Halliday

Timothy M. "Tim" Halliday of Bourne and a former Wakefield resident died suddenly June 23 at age 56.

He was born on April 10, 1954 he was the son of Wilbur L. "Whip" and Arda A. (Caputo) Halliday of Saugus.

Tim was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1974. At Wakefield High school he was a member of the Track and Football teams and was a member of the 1970 championship football team which was the last Wakefield team to go undefeated and untied in it's championship season. At the time of his death he was a Supervisor for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles where he had been since 1974. He was devoted to his many nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan, tennis player and golfer. He also enjoyed boating and spending time on Cape Cod and in Naples, FL.

In addition to his parents Tim is survived by his four brothers, Keven A. & his wife Aleta of Dedham, Mike & his wife Tricia of Bedford, NH, Mark & his wife Christine of Wakefield and Jim & his wife Karen of Bourne; his three sisters, Kathy Banks-Halliday of Bourne, Christine A. Miegel and husband Bob of Brookline and Vicki MacKay and husband Tom of Wakefield. He is also survived by his uncles Walter and Rudy Caputo.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10:00. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday 1-5pm.
