Warren F. "Skip" Haley, 78, of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, October 15 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Somerville on July 20, 1930 he was the son of the late William and Mary (Hogan) Haley.
Mr. Haley was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1949 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for Local 25.
Mr. Haley was a life member of the Wakefield Council #104 Knights of Columbus where he served as Past Grand Knight, Financial Secretary and bartender. He was a member of the Retired Men's Club. He enjoyed his Thursday night card games and was also an avid sports fan.
Mr. Haley was the loving husband of Jane M. (Folkard). Devoted father of Leslie A. Kaine & her husband Steven of Reading, Paul F., David W. and his wife Michelle all of Tewksbury, Scott M. and his wife Lisa, and Lauri J. Brennan & her husband Christopher all of Wakefield. Brother of Thelma Salemme of Melrose, J. Russell Haley of Centerville and the late Edward Haley, Evelyn Flanagan and Myra Minchello. Cherished grandfather of Emily, Mary Kate, Jonathan, Brittany, Nicholas, Kimberly, Victoria and Briana.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
