Ada Towle

Ada Margaret "Peg" Rude Towle , age 91, of Wakefield died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Saturday, June 22nd.

Born in Huntington, MA on October 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Isabelle (Polson) Rude.

Mrs. Towle was the fourth generation born on the Rude farm in Knightville river valley. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1940, and attended the former Bay Path Business School in Springfield, MA. She had worked for many years in the insurance industry and then changed her career and retired from there Westfield State College Library in Westfield, MA in 1987. Having lived most of her life in Huntington, she moved to Wakefield, MA after her retirement.

Mrs. Towle leaves her daughters, Melissa Ross and her husband Jim of Wakefield, and Cynthia Towle Kephart and her husband Murray of Lafayette, CA, grandchildren Julie Ross and Neal Dike of Melrose, Christine and Jon Hughes of Waterville, ME, Susan and Jennifer Ross of Wakefield and Ellen Towle Kephart and her fiancé Trevor Adams of` Oakland, CA, Donald and Andrew Towle Kephart of Lafayette, CA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon (Mary G.) Rude, of Huntington and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James Halsey Rude and Kenneth Gordon Rude, and her former husband, Everett E. Towle , Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a future date. Interment will be in the family plot in Huntington. The family requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to any of the three churches where Mrs. Towle worshipped, Huntington Evangelical Church, Huntington, MA 01050, First Parish Congregational Church, One Church Street, Wakefield, MA 01880, and or Park Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 4010 Park Boulevard, Oakland, CA, 94602.
