Albert J. "Al" Walling, 72 of Peabody, formerly of Lynnfield, died Tuesday, September 1 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Melrose on December 13, 1942 he was the son of the late Earl and Eunice (Thulin) Walling.
Al was raised in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School. He had been a longtime Lynnfield resident before moving to Peabody. He was the former owner of the Greater Boston Co. Al was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed fishing and playing horse shoes. He was one of the founding members of the Saugus Sportsman Club.
Al was the beloved husband of Terri (Regan) Walling. He was the loving father of A.J. Walling of Peabody. He was the brother of Earl Walling and his wife Anne of Reno, NV, Thomas Regan and his wife Cathy of No. Andover, Ted Regan and his wife Lina of Stoneham, Tony Regan of Medford, Brendan Regan and his wife Karen of Melrose, and Bryan Regan and his wife Kristine of Wakefield. He was the son-in-law of Thomas and Carolyn Regan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
