Alan J. Manfra, age 66 of Wakefield, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 26, during a brief stay at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
He was born in Winthrop on January 27, 1957, and was the son of the late Alfred and Mary (Simonini) Manfra.
Alan, a devout Catholic, grew up in East Boston. Not to be hindered by his disability, Alan enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as good conversation, playing cards, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and a delicious prime rib dinner from Jimmy’s Steer House.
He was the beloved brother of Wayne Manfra and his wife Sarah of Winthrop, Cheryl Ryan and her husband James of Wakefield, and Ann-Marie Lundmark of Richmond, Virginia. He was the loving uncle of Daniel Ryan and his wife Rachel and Michael Ryan. Alan is also survived by his great-niece Josephine.
