Albert Hunt of Georgetown, a former resident of Malden & Melrose died Thursday August 26. He was 85 years of age. Born in Queens, NY on December 25, 1924 he was the son of the late Albert & Maude (Tobey) Hunt. Mr. Hunt was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. He later located to Melrose where he resided for many years. Mr. Hunt was a retired Systems Analyst at Hanscom Air Force Base. He was the founder of the Myotone Institute of Wakefield. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wilmington and he was also a member of the Shriners and Past Commander of the Melrose D.A.V.. A veteran of W.W. II and served with the Army Air Corp. 13th AF. He served in the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife Dorothy J. (Smith). He was the father of Linda Blair & husband Don of Byfield, Beverly Rawson & husband Tom of Georgetown, Nancy Spencer & husband Tom of Brentwood, NH, Patricia Szymanski & husband Tom of Exeter, NH and the late Thomas Hunt. He was the brother of the late Alden Hunt & Gladys Hadley. He was also the grandfather of Scott Rawson, Stacy Sheldon, Jonathan Paolucci, Brendan & Bridgett Jones, Tom & Jeffrey Spencer and Alan, Clayton & Jillian Kent. Also survived by his 5 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Monday August 30 at 11:00am. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1-5pm.
