Alfred Razzaboni

Alfred R. Razzaboni, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30th at Mass. General Hospital in Boston, with his wife and family at his side. Born in Cambridge on December 1, 1937, he was the youngest son of the late James V. and Mary (Malski) Razzaboni.

Alfred was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1955. He was a proud United States Army veteran, having served a period of active duty as an instructor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Alfred was an honor graduate of Northeastern University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He worked at Lewis-Shepard Company in Watertown in the engineering department. He also worked at International Shoe Machine Corporation as a design engineer. Later, he enrolled in the Graduate Program of Boston State College where he received his Master's Degree in Education and found his true calling by teaching in the Lynn Public School System for many years.

Alfred loved the town of Wakefield; he belonged to many boards and committees. He worked in the Assessor's office for 20+ years as well as serving a term as the President of the Massachusetts Association of Assessors Organization. He was head of the CCD Program and co-chairman for the 50th and chairman for the 60th Anniversary Events committees at Saint Florence Parish in Wakefield. He was a long-time member of the Elks and President of the West Side Social Club in 1982.

In addition to his loving wife, Caroline (Giglio) Razzaboni, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2013, Alfred leaves his children; daughter Carolyn Dydzulis and her husband Stan of Wakefield, and his son James Razzaboni and his wife Jean (Edwards) of Lynnfield; his beloved grandchildren Corey, Victoria, Joel, Christopher, Jack, Peter, Nicholas; and his great-grandchildren Antonio and Marco. All were his pride and joy. He also leaves his brother, James and wife Eleanor of Stoneham and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jane and her husband Anthony Eori and his twin, Dr. Henry and his wife Carol (Osetek) Razzaboni.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave,., Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in Saint Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, from 1 to 5pm. Interment will be at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
