Alfred J. Yebba, 83 a longtime resident of Wakefield died Wednesday November 25, at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Born on December 15, 1925 he was the son of the late Michael and Theresa Yebba.
Al was a graduate of Revere High School. He served in the Navy during World War II. Al was on the Board of Selectmen and had at one time served as the Chairman. He also served the town in many other volunteer organizations. Al was the owner and operator of Crystal Beauty Salon in Wakefield and was also a Real Estate Investor and Developer in Wakefield. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, the Crystal Community Club.
Mr. Yebba was the husband of the late Geraldine L. (Fotino) Yebba. He was the father of Alfred R. Yebba and his wife Pamela, and Michele Salameh and her husband Alaa all of Wakefield, and JoAnn Zaccaria of Winthrop and her late husband Louis. Longtime loving companion of Mary Paiva of Wakefield. Mr. Yebba was the brother of Phillip Yebba of Fitchburg, Mary Festa of W.Peabody, Jerry Ruggiero of Danvers, Carmine Ruggiero of Methuen, Joseph Yebba of FL, Mary Tufo of Revere and the late Michael Anthony, and Nicholas Yebba, Lee Ray, Jenny Sirois, and Anna Banks. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Michaela, Alexander, Adam, Geraldine, Jacob, Nicole, Sophia, and Jolena.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8pm.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
