Alice Melanson

Alice M. Melanson, 75 of Wakefield, died Tuesday, January 10 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading.

Born in Wellfleet on May 15, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Josephine (Gates) Murray.

Alice was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1954. She was a retired Administrative Assistant for the Addison Wesley Publishing Company and Northfield Associates.

Alice had been a Wakefield resident since she was 15 years old. She was a member of St. Joseph parish in Wakefield. She enjoyed line dancing with a large group 6 days a week and spent time at the McCarthy Senior Center.

Alice was the wife of the late Roy Melanson. She is survived by her 3 children; Mark Melanson and his wife Cindy of Davidville, MD, Karen Davis and her husband Richard of Ellington, CT, and Douglas Melanson of Reading. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Emily, and Sarah Melanson, and Heather, Michael, Charlotte, and Audrey Davis.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
