Alyssa Nanopoulos

Alyssa L. Nanopoulos of Wakefield, age 19, died accidentally Monday, May 11. Born in Melrose, MA on October 26, 1989 she was the beloved daughter of Andrew C. & Nancy A. (Moscatelli) Nanopoulos of Wakefield.

Alyssa was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate Austin Prep of Reading, Class of 2008. An outstanding student at Austin she received the Presidential Award for Scholarship and also awarded a perfect attendance award for her 4 years of high school. Also at Austin she was a member of the Business Club and the Service Club of the school. At the time of her death she was attending Assumption College in Worcester and was majoring in psychology.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her loving brother Michael A. Nanopoulos of Wakefield and her grandparents, Rita & Sam Moscatelli of Chelsea and Mary Nanopoulos of New Bedford. She was predeceased by her grandfather Constantine Nanopoulos. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10:00. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 3-8 pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
