Angelo DeGiovanni, 95 of Gloucester, formerly of Lynnfield died Sunday, June 2, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.
Born in Boston November 28, 1928 he was the son of the late Giusseppi and Antonietta (Petruzzelli) DeGiovanni.
Angelo moved to Rome, Italy at the age of three where he was educated and graduated high school in 1946. Following graduation, he returned to Boston and was drafted into the Army. Angelo had a distinguished career as a Machinist with Polaroid before his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a ham radio operator.
Angelo was the beloved husband of the late Anna (DeSanto) DeGiovanni. He was the loving father of Linda Baker and her husband Mark of East Brunswick, NJ, Janet Tobin and her husband Daniel of Gloucester, Joseph DeGiovanni of Georgetown, Richard DeGiovanni of Gloucester, and Annmarie Pendola and her husband Michael of Reading. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Catherine, Nicholas, Christopher, Michael, Julia, and William. He was preceded in death by his 11 siblings.
His Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
