Ann Marie White of Andover, died peacefully on Tuesday October 29 at the age of 96.
She was born in Winchester on November 19, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Grace Margaret (McGonagle) McDonald.
Ann grew up on a farm in Woburn during the Great Depression and World War II, graduating from Woburn High School in 1945. Those times greatly influenced her, and she remained a frugal and careful individual. She attended the Computer School of Boston and Merrimack College. She worked for several local companies in various accounting roles, including LAM Research, CETA, and Portex.
Ann married Richard in 1961, and they had two children, Timothy and Sally Ann. Together they built their dream home in Andover and moved to town in 1969, where she remained, raising her children & grandchildren until 2024. Ann was a devout Catholic and active member at St. Augustine’s and taught CCD for several years. She was a loving mother and Nana to not only her own grandchildren, but all of the neighborhood children. She was a beloved aunt and great-aunt and loved seeing her large family together. Holidays were always festive at the White’s home, including large Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations with extended family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved driving carpool, attending school sports and activities, and babysitting. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world with her best friend, Winnie, and her daughter Sally.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. White. She was the loving mother of Timothy White and his wife Laura of Scituate and Sally Ann Bouley and her husband Michael of Andover. She was the cherished Nana of Liam White and his wife Hannah, Jessica White, and Colin Bouley. She was the great-grandmother of Marlowe Ann White. Ann was predeceased by her siblings John McDonald and his wife Ethel, Bill McDonald and his wife Grace, Jerome McDonald and his wife Mary, and Grace Donaghey and her husband Jack. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 6 in St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex St., Andover at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will b e held at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St, Andover on Wednesday November 6 prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
