Ann P. Sacco, 88, of Reading died peacefully on March 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 25, 1928 in Medford, MA, the youngest daughter of the late Marie and Charles Hardy.
Ann's life was defined by her deep and abiding love for her husband, Carl Sacco and their six children. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, daughter, aunt and good friend to all she encountered. She gave of herself to everyone she loved and those who needed her with her enormously warm heart and generosity. Ann was a passionate swimmer, lover of sports, the beach, reading, music, being with family, good food, good wine and good fun. She loved to dance and walk and be active. Her pride was grounded in the family she raised with the love of her life Carl. The causes that she championed included animal welfare, St. Jude's Hospital, Veteran's Affairs, etc.
Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Bonita (Bonnie) Sacco and sister, Evelyn. She is survived by her son Carl M. Sacco of East Machias, Maine, and his wife Lee, son Steven Sacco of Scarborough Maine and his wife Gail Dana-Sacco, daughter Nancy Sacco of Lynnfield, MA and her partner James Tams, daughter Jayne Sacco and her husband John Buckner of Gloucester, MA and her son John Sacco of Beverly and his wife Tina Grasso. Her grandchildren include Jessica and Matthew Sacco, Helaina Sacco, Peter Sacco, Sean Buckner and Edward Sacco. She is also survived by her brother Paul Hardy and wife Lois of Malden MA. and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on THURSDAY at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis Church, 441 Fellsway W. in Medford at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on MONDAY from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Woodend Cemetery in Reading.
