Anna Gist

Anna Hahn Gist, 88, of Lynnfield died on June 18, 2013 at her residence.

Born in Bowmanstown, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Norman Righter and Irene Martha (Noll) Hahn.

Mrs. Gist was a graduate of Dover High School, NJ, Class of 1942. She had been a Lynnfield resident since 1960. Mrs. Gist had worked at Tower Day School in Lynnfield, the SEC, and the Corps of Engineering. She served in Lynnfield Scouts as a Den Mother & Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Lynnfield Historical Society, the Flower Workshop and the Get Together Wheel at the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield, where she also had served as a Deaconess and Flower Committee Chair.

Mrs. Gist is survived by her husband William Bruce Gist, Jr., her five children; Marilyn Gist and Paul Morro of Raleigh, North Carolina, William B. Gist III and Cynthia of Chelmsford, Susan G. Miller and Saul of Dunstable, Patricia G. Bleau and Thomas of Simi Valley, California and Georgia G. Thibodeau and Andre of Mendon, her three brothers; Sherman Hahn of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Robert Hahn of Nashville, Tennessee, Marvin Hahn of Cicero, New York. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren: Erica, Brian, Scott, and Rob Coleman, Kimberly, Jessica (Volk) and Lily Gist, Haley Miller, Arianna and Angelique Bleau, Carly and Rachel Thibodeau and a great grandchild, Reid Coleman. Mrs. Gist was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Ritter.

Her funeral service will be held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on June 24 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on June 23 from 2-5pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
