Anne M. Burns, 94, of Lynnfield, MA died peacefully on Monday, June 28, at the Alliance Health at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a precious day of visiting with her loving family.
Born in Boston on August 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Francis L. and Annette (Desautels) Chamberlain.
Anne was raised in Dedham, MA and was a graduate of Dedham High School and Katherine Gibbs College. She was a Lynnfield resident for 66 years. Anne was a dependable bank teller for 29 years at Wakefield Co-operative Bank in Lynnfield. She was cherished by her coworkers, loved her job, and adored the wonderful people she had the pleasure of working with. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to Ogunquit Beach, traveling to Bermuda, Ireland, and Hawaii. She also enjoyed reading, making puzzles, music, hosting bridge with the ladies in the neighborhood, and when she retired at the age of 84, she took exercise classes at the senior center.
Anne was the wife of the late Albert J. Burns. She is survived by her children: Richard Burns and his wife, Carol Ann, of Elverson, PA, Patricia Boyd of Ashland, Albert Burns of Ledyard, CT, Thomas Burns and his wife, Leslie, of Chesterfield, NH, William Burns of Littleton, and Robert Burns of Lynnfield. Anne is also survived by her sister, Fran Britton, and 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Burns, and her grandson, Marc Burns.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Thursday, July 8, from 4-7pm.
A private graveside committal will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield,
Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 9, at 11:30am at Crowne Plaza Boston-Woburn, 15 Middlesex Canal Park Dr, Woburn, MA. All are welcome to attend.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody for the excellent and kind care they gave our mother and nana.
