Anne R. Gronberg, 80, of Chelmsford died on Wednesday, June 26 at Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Wakefield on July 26, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Theodore L. and Anna M. (Wanicek) Roache.
Mrs. Gronberg was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1950. She was a retired statistician at Emerson Hospital in Concord and had also worked for Century Insurance Company in Boston as a director of accounts payable in the 1950's. Mrs. Gronberg was a member of the Golden Chain Garden Club in Chelmsford and was a founding member of the Chelmsford Swim and Tennis Club.
Mrs. Gronbegr was the wife of the late Olaf E. Gronberg, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters; Dianne Reid and her husband Gregory and Karen (Gronberg) Schulte all of Chelmsford, her two grandchildren; Bradford Reid and Eryka Reid both of Chelmsford and her sister-in-law Madeline Roache of Wakefield. Mrs. Gronberg was predeceased by her two brothers; Theodore L. Roache and William T. Roache.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 72 East Concord St, C3, Boston, MA 02118.
