Anthony Caico

Anthony J. Caico, 86, of Lynnfield, formerly Peabody and Danvers, passed away at the Salem Hospital on Sunday August 7.

Born in Boston on August 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Figliola) Caico.

Mr. Caico was a Graduate of Brighton High School. A Lynnfield resident for over 18 years, he enjoyed golf, playing cards and socializing. Anthony was a Naval Officer who started his service as an enlisted man and moved his way up the ranks to the position of Lt. Commander. He had served during WW II, Korea and Vietnam and had served onboard the USS Yorktown and the USS Cascade. Mr. Caico had been a Hospital Administrator having worked for the Mary Alley Hospital in Marlbehead. Anthony was a member of the Wakefield Elks and spent his winters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Mr. Caico was the husband of Mary "Marie" (McCarthy) Caico. He was the father of Nancy DeBaggis and her husband Alex of Mashpee, William Caico and his wife Mary of Salem, Carol Sterling of Chelmsford, Mary Peicott and her husband Paul of Danvers, and Deborah Toohey and her husband Kevin of Windham, NH. He was the brother of Mario Caico of Brighton and the late Joseph Caico, Josephine Mills and Lena Driscoll. Anthony is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave Wakefield on Thursday at 9:00 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St. Peabody at 10 o'clock. A period of visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 8 PM. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Americans Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301.
