Anthony Francis Carra, age 79 of Saugus, died Sunday, December 31 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home.
Born in Salina, Italy on January 1, 1938. He was the son of the late Aurelio and Anna (Soldani) Carra.
Anthony was raised in Italy and moved to the United States at the age of 16. He served in the Army Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He has been a Saugus resident since 1973. For 49 years he was the head chef at Prince Pizza on Route 1 in Saugus.
He was the beloved husband of Linda (Stevenson) Carra. He was the loving father of Michael Carra and wife Tina of Saugus, Amy Caggiano and husband Arthur of Wakefield, and Andrew Carra of Tampa, FL. He was the brother of Alexander Carra and his wife Julie of Danvers. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Brandi, Bryan, Ava, and Ella; as well as one great grandchild: Colt.
Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm.
