Anthony M. Cecere, 91, of Wakefield formerly of Stoneham died Monday, May 4th at the Oosterman Rest Home in Melrose.
Born in Boston on February 26, 1918 he was the son of the late Angelo M. and Antonetta (Petecina) Cecere.
Mr. Cecere was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Mr. Cecere had worked in the Boston Naval Shipyard and had retired from the Defense Supply Agency. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Mr. Cecere was the husband of the late Frances M. (Saia). He is survived by his daughter Anita Kooken of Wakefield and his two grandchildren; Nicholas and Adam Kooken. Mr. Cecere is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his five brothers; Louis, John, Rico, Carmen and Frederick Cecere and also his sister Connstance Pierro.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3-6pm.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
