Anthony Cerullo

Anthony Cerullo , 87, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died on Wednesday July 10, at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.

Born in Harrison, NJ on July 7, 1926 he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary (Marturano) Cerullo .

Tony was a graduate of Harrison High School in Harrison, NJ. He served in the US Army during World War II. Tony was a retired custodian for the Wakefield Public School System.

A Wakefield resident since 1950, he was an active member at St. Florence Church and the Holy Name Society. He was also a past president of the Retired Men's Club, a member of the Crystal Community Club and the Wakefield Coral Society.

Tony was the husband of Carol Henry-Cerullo and the late Lorraine R. Cerullo . He was the father of Brian Cerullo and his wife Karen of W. Boylston, Brent Cerullo and his wife Lisa of Melrose, Bruce Cerullo and his wife Kristen Lynch-Cerullo, and Brenda Bye and her husband Steve all of Wakefield, Blake Cerullo and his wife Annette of Westford and Karen Caruso and her husband Paul of Billerica. He was the brother of Daniel Albert Cerullo of NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kimberly Cerullo , Amy Cerullo-Arrington and her husband Scott, Adam Cerullo , Nick Vargus, Mac and Emma Cerullo , Regan and Sophie Lynch, Caitlin and Derek Bye, Matt and Daniel Cerullo , and Ashley Caruso; his great granddaughter Novalee Cerullo , several foster children, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 9 siblings.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
