Anthony S. Ginewicz

Anthony S. Ginewicz passed away peacefully on Sunday August 18th at his home in Stoneham at the age of 77. 

He was born in Boston on February 17, 1947 and was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Gentile) Ginewicz. 

Anthony was the loving father of Anthony Ginewicz of Stoneham, and Jennifer Hogan and her husband Thomas of Lynn. He was the beloved brother of Robert Ginewicz of Lynn, Lawrence Ginewicz of Dorchester, and the late sister Margaret Fillmore of Somerville. Survived by former wife Marilyn George. Anthony was the cherished grandfather of Callie and Brock Hogan. The beloved uncle to Steven Fillmore and many other nieces and nephews.

He started his career as a refrigerator technician and in property maintenance. Anthony had a passion for fixing things and learned many trades. During these years his interests included boating, fishing and vacationing with his kids. For many years his pride and joy was hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner complete with his favorite strawberry shortcake dessert and Bingo.

Anthony enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, following Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and more recently going to restaurants at encore with his son and his friends. He supported his son and daughter in their local businesses. He was always full of energy, thoughtful and willing to put others before himself. 

Anthony left an impression with many people over the years with his charm, caring attitude and humor. Known as Grampy T to his Grandchildren and Big Tony to his Family and Friends, he will be dearly missed.
