Anthony J . Gioioso , age 75, of Winchester, died Saturday, January 4 at the Winchester Hospital. Born in Boston on May 23, 1944 he was the son of the late Anthony and Julietta (Gemma) Gioioso .
Anthony was raised and educated in East Boston before marrying and raising his family in Somerville. He was an avid New England sports fan and also enjoyed gambling; especially trips to Fox Woods. He also enjoyed traveling, taking memorable trips to Yellowstone National Park as well as the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. Anthony most cherished time spend with his grandchildren and his beloved cat, Gemma.
He was the husband of Diane (Labadini). He was the father of Kimberly Sealey and her husband Francis of Woburn and Michael Gioioso and his wife Sheila Kolar of Billings, MT. He was the brother of Judith Quinlivan and her husband James of Salem. He was the grandfather of Tayla, Marissa, Rocco and Giada; and the uncle of James, Julieann, Maureen, Timothy; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of Sheila Labadini, Frank Labadini and his wife Lisa, Nancy Frenzo and husband Nick, and Janet Palumbo and her husband Gene. He is also survived by dear friend, JC.
Funeral from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5pm.
