Tony LaCava, 50, of Wakefield, MA, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA, following a fatal motorcycle accident.


Tony will be forever remembered and loved by his son Stephen LaCava of Haverhill, MA; his mother Lesley, his sister Devon LaCava of Wakefield, MA and his wife Alicia (Janiak) LaCava of Atkinson, NH. He also leaves behind his Aunt and Uncle, Sheila and Frankie Martinez of North Reading, MA; his Uncle and Aunt Gordon and Wendy Copland of Methuen, MA; his cousins Alyssa, Desiree, Mia, Bobby, James and Peter, along with his son Stephen’s mom Tracy, as well as many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Charles LaCava, his grandparents Isabelle and Peter Copland, his cousin Erik Martinez and his stepdaughter Ashley Fletcher.


Tony was born in Cambridge, MA on August 28, 1972 and was a lifelong resident of Wakefield, MA. He attended the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School and graduated in 1992. He went on to become a plumber, for over 30 years.


He had a love for traveling, heavy metal/alternative rock music, attending concerts, watching Jeopardy and he loved riding his motorcycles. He enjoyed football and was always rooting for the NE Patriots to win. He enjoyed Astronomy (he knew all the constellations) and could be found outside at night with his binoculars, looking up at the sky. He had a passion for treasure hunting and always carried a magnet in his car, while out on his adventures. He was named after St. Anthony, the patron of lost articles. He was very creative and could make something unique out of anything.


He had a big heart but also enjoyed playing pranks on people. He could always make you laugh with his quick wit and jokes. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, if needed. He loved all types of animals and even had a pet spider named Charlie. He had a particular soft spot for his cat “Boo Boo Bear” - Angel. He also leaves behind his cats Ivy, Quinnie, Java and his dog Spirt.


Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, MA on Sunday April 23, 2023, from 1-3PM.


Funeral services will be private.
