Antonio Nocera

Antonio Nocera, 72, a long time resident of Wakefield, died on Friday, November 29, at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Italy on September 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Giuditta (Alecce) Nocera.

Mr. Nocera was raised in Portigliola, Italy and moved to the United States in 1970. He was a retired tailor for Macy's and had also worked for Filene's in Boston. Mr. Nocera was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Crystal Community Club of Wakefield.

Mr. Nocera was the beloved husband of Rose (DiMeco) Nocera. He was the brother of Rocco Nocera and wife Cecilia of Wakefield, Salvatore Nocera, Caterina Orlando, and Grazia Orlando all of Italy and the late Cosimo Nocera, and Teresina Nocera. He was the brother in-law of Maria Viglietti and husband Bernie, and Irene DiMeco and husband Rudolph all of Stoneham, Tony DiMeco and wife Fran of Melrose, and Louie DiMeco and wife Louisa of Venezuela. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
