Arlene M. Curran, 75, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died on Tuesday, July 2 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Boston on February 14, 1938 she was the daughter of the late James "Red" and Margaret (Driscoll) Donaher.
Arlene was a graduate of Wakefield High School and earned her Associates Degree at Fisher Junior College. She was a former employee of Northwest Airlines, Attorney Francis McGrath, Wakefield Parks and Recreation and the Wakefield Town Employees Credit Union.
Arlene enjoyed watching the Bruins and Red Sox games with her grandsons.
She was the wife of the late Roger A. Curran and the mother of Debbie Pond and her husband Jeff of Wakefield, Danny Curran and his wife Kim of North Reading, and Dianne Fazio and her husband Dennis of Melrose. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren; Chris, Timmy, Katie, Matthew, Shane, Jared, Christina, and Samantha. Arlene was predeceased by her brother, John "Butch" Donaher.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
