Arnold B. "Pinky" Harris, 88, a long time resident of Wakefield died on Thursday, September 5 at his home.
Born in Walpole on November 12, 1924 he was the son of the late Benjamin and Katherine (Stewart) Harris.
Mr. Harris was raised in Malden and had attended Malden Public Schools. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a retired electrician from the Charlestown Naval Ship Yard and later from Paisley Maintenance Co.
Mr. Harris was the husband of Constance C. (Jeffrey) Harris. He was the father of Jeffrey S. Harris and Ellisa C. Harris both of Wakefield and Leslie A. Frechette of New Hampshire. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Stephen, Ryan and Katelyn. Mr. Harris was predeceased by his three brothers, Harold "Jake", Carl and Raymond Harris and two sisters, Arlene Elk and Mosselle Pione.
A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 12 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:30-12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
