Arthur J . Campatelli , 95, of Wakefield formerly of Revere died on Friday, March 28 at his residence.
Born in Revere on February 20, 1919, he was the son of the late Joseph and Virginia (DePisa) Campatelli .
Mr. Campatelli was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1937. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 20 years. Mr. Campatelli was a retired manager for the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston for 35 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Revere. Mr. Campatelli was an avid golfer, painter and competitive chess player. He enjoyed spending his summers on Cape Cod.
He was the husband of the late Dororthy (Capone) Campatelli . Mr. Campatelli is survived by his daughter Diane Onorio and her husband Anthony of Wakefield and his granddaughter Danielle Onorio of Wakefield. He was predeceased by his grandson Eric Onorio, his brother Alfred Campatelli and his two sisters; Inez DeAngelis and Eleanor Brown.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment will in be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice Inc., 178 Savin St., Suite 300, Malden, MA 02148.
