Arthur Foulds, 92, a resident of Lynnfield, died April 15 surrounded by his family. Born in Dorchester, the son of Powys and Ada Foulds, he graduated from Revere High School and was educated at the Lowell Institute School at MIT. He was a certified professional engineer and served as treasurer of the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers. He worked at the General Electric in Lynn and Wilmington for 45 years.
Mr. Foulds was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in Japan.
He was very much involved in Lynnfield affairs in many and varied activities. Later he was elected to the School Committee and twice was its chairman.
Mr. Foulds was on the first board of directors of the Huckleberry Hill School PTA and was co-president in its third year. He helped found Cub Scout pack 47 and was also a driving force in the creation of the high school soccer team. For eight years he was president of the Lynnfield Historical Society and for 15 years co-chaired that organization's annual "Country Store" fair in the Meeting House on the Common.
He was a deacon of the Centre Congregational Church and superintendent of the Sunday school.
