Barbara Birmingham

Barbara M. Birmingham , (Gerrish-McDonald) 88, of Brewster died on Tuesday, May 27 at the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Harwich.

Born in Wakefield on January 3, 1926 she was the daughter of the late William and Flossie (Whitten) Gerrish.

Mrs. Birmingham was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1943. Worked for New England Telephone Company for 38 years and had retired as a Personnel Manager in 1981.

She was the wife of the late Bernard Birmingham . Mrs. Birmingham is survived by her 3 stepdaughters; Jeanne M. LaVasseur and Christine M. Fitzpatrick both of Reading, Elaine K. Bussey of Andover, New Hampshire, her 3 stepsons; Bernard M. Birmingham of North Berwick, Maine, Gerald M. Birmingham of Woburn and Martin T. Birmingham of Harwich, her sister Doris Licht of Whittier, California.She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Rita Casey. She is also survived by her 11 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Saturday at 10:30am. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday from 8:30-10am.
