Barbara Duffy

Barbara L. Duffy, 75, of Stoneham died August 2, 2015 at the Winchester Hospital.

Born on August 29, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Lee) Duffy.

Barbara was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School. She attended Boston University and later graduated with a Master's degree from Northeastern University. She had worked at St. Patrick School as a teacher and a counselor and later at Mass Rehab in Lynn as a rehab councilor.

Barbara is survived by her longtime companion Mary Amato of Stoneham. She was the sister of Margaret Murphy of West Melbourne, FL and Fr. Paul Duffy (Maryknoll Missionary) of Taiwan. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Sharon, John, Susan, and Cara.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3-5 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
