Barbara Grogan
Stoneham – Barbara Putzki Grogan, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Arnold House of Stoneham, Ma.
Barbara was born in Washington, DC on July 28, 1924. She graduated from Smith College in Northampton, MA and entered the Red Cross during World War II, where she met her husband, Robert S. Grogan in Bremerhaven, Germany. He died on November 3, 1999.
Barbara and Bob lived in several communities during their life together including, Corning, NY, Clinton, NY, Devil Lake, Westport, Ontario, Montpelier, VT and Cocoa Beach, Fl.
Mrs. Grogan leaves one son, Paul S. Grogan and his wife, Karen Sunnarborg of Jamaica Plain, Ma; two daughters, Janet L. Grogan and her husband James Green of Somerville, MA. and Sara D. Milano and her husband Arthur D. Milano of Pittfield Ma; and seven grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Pauletta Evans and husband Robert Evans of Bethesda, Maryland. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ann Golden of Minneapolis, Mn.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the team at AllCare Hospice for their supportive attention; and to the staff of Arnold House for their loving care and unswerving support of Barbara and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smith College, Northampton, MA. There will be no calling hours and services will be private.
