Barbara Morales

Barbara Fazio Morales , 78, a longtime resident of Wakefield and San Juan, Puerto Rico, died unexpectedly Monday, September 22, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Wakefield on August 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late V. Richard and Helen (Bartnick) Fazio and wife of the late Juan Morales .

Barbara was raised and attended school in Wakefield and then went on to attend the Academy Moderne in Boston. She worked for many years at Avco Industries in Everett as a purchasing agent.

After moving to Puerto Rico to marry her husband, Juan, Barbara worked for the hotel industry in the San Juan area. Following their retirement in Puerto Rico, Barbara and Juan returned to Wakefield.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Janice Morton and her husband, David of North Reading and the late Kenneth Fazio and his wife Jane of Winthrop. Many loving family members in Puerto Rico, seventeen nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive Barbara .

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, Sept. 26 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
