Barbara McLean passed away on December 24, 2015 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home.
In her son Scott's words: "She was the epitome of a "tough cookie," but she had a consistent value system full of grace and respect with never a hint of malice or envy. She was an advocate for peace and maintained mindful her entire life. She didn't possess a racist bone and was always generously putting other's needs before her own. She was my greatest mentor and shaper of my character. I was blessed to have a loving relationship with my mom for the last fifteen years. I learned so much from her. I am my mother's son and very proud of it. She was a progressive and kind person, blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She welcomed all with open arms from the beginning. I was so fortunate to have her as my mother and friend."
