Barbara Sweeney

Barbara A. Sweeney, 90, a lifelong Stoneham resident died on Wednesday, January 18 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield.
Born in Winchester on January 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Katherine (English) O'Toole.
Mrs. Sweeney was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Class of 1943. She married Woburnite Daniel R. Sweeney in 1948. Barbara devoted her life to the care of her family especially her son Patrick.
Mrs. Sweeney was the beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Sweeney. She was the loving mother of Daniel R. Sweeney Jr. and his wife Margaret of NH, Robert W. Sweeney and his wife Carol of Stoneham, Barbara J. Devlin and her husband James of Woburn, Maureen Giacchino and her husband Edward of Melrose, Patrick T. Sweeney of Melrose and the late Paul F. Sweeney. Mrs. Sweeney was the sister of the late Katherine Doherty, Alice Chase, William O'Toole, Lawrence O'Toole and Francis O'Toole. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-5pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
