Benito Barsanti

Benito G. Barsanti, Esq., 82, of Wakefield died on Thursday, May 17 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.

Born in Wakefield on June 15, 1929 he was the son of the late Umberto and Daisy (Steer) Barsanti.

Mr. Barsanti was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He was also a graduate of Middlebury College, 1951 and Boston College Law School, 1958. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Barsanti practiced law in Wakefield for many years. He was a member of the Bear Hill Golf Club, the Sons of Italy and the Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Gamaliel Painter's Cane Society at Middlebury College and served on the Board of Directors of the Wakefield C.S.F. and the Hartshorne House.

Mr. Barsanti was the husband of the late Mary (O'Rourke) Barsanti. He was the father of Robert P. Barsanti of Pittsfield, Michael J. Barsanti of PA and Elena M. Barsanti of HI. He was the brother of Umbertino Barsanti of NC, Fernando Barsanti of NH and Margherita Flaherty of Italy and the grandfather of Sullivan Barsanti and Rourke and Beck Barsanti.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
