Benjamin J. Mohla, 21, a life long Wakefield resident, died tragically on Saturday, November 23 in an automobile accident in Vermont.
Born in Beverly on May 12, 1992 he was the beloved son of Thomas and Maryjane (Welsh) Mohla.
Ben was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class on 2010 and was currently a student at the University of Vermont where he had been pursuing a degree in Environmental Science. During his high school years, Ben had been a member of the jazz band, where he played the trumpet; he also ran track and field and was on the freshman wrestling team. A man of many talents, Ben also played the lead role in the High School's performance of "The Wedding Singer" in his senior year. He was an avid outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his loving sister Casey Mohla of Wakefield. He was the grandson of John and Anna Welsh of Wakefield and the late Harry and Dorothy Mohla.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 10 0'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
