Bertram A. Hudson, 87, of Wakefield died Thursday, June 12 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Chelsea on September 23, 1920 he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Anthony) Hudson.
Mr. Hudson was a graduate of Chelsea High School and had received his Bachelors and Masters degree's in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Class of 1954 and 1960. He had worked for Esso before becoming Exxon as an accountant for 25 years and later had worked for the Town of Wakefield D.P.W. as an Administrative assistant for 20 years. Mr. Hudson was a member of the Wakefield Elks Lodge 1276, past member of the Town of Wakefield Junior High School Survey Committee, past member of the Wakefield Old Age Housing Authority, member of the Wakefield Finance Committee (Fifth Year), the Wakefield Capital Outlay Committee, the Wakefield Lions Club serving as financial secretary for two years and the Wakefield Sports Associates, Inc and past secretary.
Mr. Hudson was the husband of the late Elizabeth G. (Luciano). He is survived by his three sons; James Hudson & his wife Jackie of CA, Robert Hudson & his wife Jeanne of Tewksbury and Richard Hudson & his wife Joanne of Wakefield. Mr. Hudson is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Craig, Scott, Julie, Andrew, Mary, Anne and Meaghan.
A funeral service will be held in the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church 273 Vernon St, Wakefield, on Wednesday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital 300 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA 02155.
