Betty DeVries

Betty L . DeVries , 61, of Billerica and formerly Wakefield, died at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Friday, May 13.

Born in Melrose on August 11, 1949, she was the daughter of Dorothy L . (Hunt) Gosselin of Wakefield and the late Leo R. Gosselin.

Mrs. DeVries was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield, class of 1967. Betty had been long time employee of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and had worked most recently for the National Financial Services of Chelmsford. An accomplished seamstress and avid boater, Betty enjoyed spending her summers on her boat at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

Mrs. DeVries was the wife of Frederick J. DeVries , Jr. of Billerica. In addition to her mother Dorothy Gosselin of Wakefield, she is survived by her sons Steven G. DeVries of Lowell and Brian P. DeVries of Reno, NV. Betty was the grandmother of Paige O., Samuel G. and Jacob F. DeVries .

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield at 11:00 o'clock on Wednesday May 18. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 a'" 8 P.M.

Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
