Blanche A. Crabb, 93, of Wakefield, died on Tuesday, August 4 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Swampscott on January 31, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Aime H. and Laura M. (Brodeur) Bourke.
Mrs. Crabb was a graduate of Swampscott High School, Class of 1934. She was also a graduate of Lasell Junior College (1936) and the Modern School of Applied Art (1938). After graduation she worked for General Electric River Works as a draftsman. She moved from Swampscott to Wakefield as a bride in 1942.
Mrs. Crabb was a member of the Thomson Country Club and Friend of the Greenwood Union Church. Before their demise she was a member of the Greenwood Women's Club and Wakefield Mother's Club.
Mrs. Crabb was the wife of the late Charles R. Crabb who died in 1990. She is survived by her son, Paul B. Crabb and granddaughter Trisha Crabb-Hughes both of Portsmouth, RI, her grandson, Robert MacDonald of Dumfries, VA, her great granddaughters, Amy Kate Crabb of Portsmouth, RI and Shawna, Voisine and Autumn MacDonald all of Dumfries, VA. Mrs. Crabb was predeceased by her son Richard H. Crabb who died in 1989.
A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at Noon. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:30 to Noon. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
