Bonnie J. Klapes of Lynnfield died Nov. 16 at age 78. Born in Chicago, IL on January 6, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Henry H. & Linda (Baumgarten) Harms. Mrs. Klapes was raised in Whiting, IL and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and the Hammond Business School. She had been a Lynnfield resident since 1963 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wakefield and also a member of the former Trinity Baptist Church of Lynnfield.
Mrs. Klapes is survived by her husband C. Charles Klapes. Her two sons, Charles R. Klapes and his wife Jodi of Hampton, NH and David A. Klapes and his wife Kimberley of Newburyport. Her two daughters, Linda L. Klapes of No. Andover and N. Arlene Klapes of Ft. Wayne, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashlee, Bryan, Alexandra & Colin and was the great grandmother of Kaden. She is pre-deceased by her sister Shirley Wyllis and her brother Wayne Harms.
A Memorial service will be held in the First Baptist Church 8 Lafayette St. Wakefield on Friday at 11:00, relatives and friends invited to attend. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Thusday 4-8pm. Private interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
