Brenda M. Halpin

Brenda M. (Collins) Halpin died peacefully at Winchester Hospital, February 19, 2025.

She was predeceased by her adoring husband, Bernard M. Halpin, Jr., and two brothers, Charlie and Dermot. Brenda was the devoted mother of Mary Susan (Halpin) Blout and her husband Jay, Timothy S. Halpin, Denis Pinhone-dos Santos, and C. Richard Halpin. Loving grandmother to David, Morgan and Sadie Blout.

Brenda grew up in Arlington, MA before marrying Bernie in 1967. They bought their home in Stoneham in 1972, where she lived until her passing. A life-long volunteer, she was involved in St. Patrick’s parish and school for decades and a fixture at daily and weekly Mass. Always a social butterfly, she amassed an enormous number of friends over the years. Between her neighborhood friends, church friends, and keeping in touch with her childhood friends, she was always busy.

Being on the go was her favorite pastime. She often joked that Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” was her song. It suited her perfectly. She was the one you called if you needed a ride, help with an errand, or a Saturday night out with the girls. She was famous for her “clown car” of kids heading out on an ‘80’s summer day. That became her following her grandkids’ sports schedules as often as possible. She loved spying from unlikely places at the football and soccer games. Hearing “Hi, Nana!” when the kids would see her was one of her absolute favorite sounds.

Brenda was one of a kind, if you know you know. She will be missed terribly but will remain an inspiration of a life well-lived. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Brenda is survived by her brother Larry and his wife Judy of Contoocook, NH.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham on Tuesday, February 25, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Stoneham. Visitation will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham, on Monday, February 24 from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to St. Patrick Parish, Stoneham, MA.
