Bruce Downing

Bruce Downing of Stoneham died on Sunday, June 16 at the Woburn Nursing Center.

Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on April 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Mariner E. and Viola D. (Tibbetts) Downing.

Bruce was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1961 and Wentworth Institute, Class of 1963. He had been a Stoneham resident for the past 47 years. An avid skier across Europe, Canada and Western United States and was a car enthusiast owning Hot Rods and Corvettes.

Mr. Downing is survived by his wife Linda L. (Lambert) Downing and his daughter Heather J. Purcell her and husband Jason C. of Cambridge.

Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 3-7pm. Funeral service at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
