Burton Hammond Page

Burton Hammond Page, age 83, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, after a long illness. He was born in Winchester on September 15, 1941, and was the beloved son of the late George and Phyllis (Stone) Page.

Burton had a lifelong passion for golf that shaped both his personal and professional life. He began his career working with his family at the Colonial Hilton, where he oversaw Food and Beverage operations as well as the hotel’s golf course. His deep appreciation for hospitality and leadership continued throughout his life.

He later served as the General Manager of Hillview Country Club, where he led the function/event operations, bringing his talents full circle. He later became President of Cedar Glen Golf Course in Saugus, where he spent his most recent years. His leadership style—approachable, steady, and genuine—made a lasting impression on all who worked with him.

Throughout his career, Burton was deeply respected and beloved by his staff, employees, and colleagues, many of whom stayed in touch with him long after their time working together. His mentorship, fairness, and unwavering work ethic created not just successful teams but lasting friendships.

Beyond his role as a leader, Burton found great joy in mentoring young golfers, often sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game with the next generation. Whether offering quiet advice on the driving range or leading by example, he took pride in helping others grow both personally and professionally.

He was the loving father of Robin D. Page of North Chelmsford, Nichole P. Ward of Tewksbury, Stephen Hammond Page of Salisbury, and George B. Page and his wife Olha of Westfield. He was the devoted partner of Mary Pike of Peabody. Burton was a cherished grandfather to Alexandra Norman, Sydney Norman, Ashley Norman, Jarrad Norman, Olivia Ward, and Maddox Hammond Page. He was also the brother of the late George (Bo) Page, and is survived by his sister Gia Page and brother Adam Page.

His Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.

Burton will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his lifelong love of golf, and his generosity of spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege to know and work alongside him.
