Calogero Sardo

Calogero "Charlie" Sardo , 89, of Lynnfield formerly of Malden. Died on Saturday, September 29 at his home in Lynnfield.

Born in Boston on August 3, 1923 he was the son of the late Calogero and Rosina (Cammarata) Sardo .

Mr. Sardo had been a Lynnfield resident for the past 5 years and a former resident of Malden. He was raised and educated in the North End of Boston and Revere. Mr. Sardo was a member of the Roofers Union Local 33.

He was the husband of the late Josephine A. (Madden). Mr. Sardo was the father of Nancy Tescione and her husband Lenny of Lynnfield, Christine DeRosa of Malden, Judy Daly and her husband Tim of Lynnfield and Carol Sardo and her husband Chuck Colombino of Melrose. He was the brother of Connie Tagliamonte of Melrose, Anthony Sardo of Boxford, RoseMarie Cattoggio of Revere and the late Phillip, James, Dominic and Joseph Sardo and Lulu Stott. Mr. Sardo was the grandfather of Briane, Joseph, Toni, Marisa and Andrew and great grandfather of Andrew, Oliver and Blake.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem Sts, Lynnfield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home, Tuesday 4-8pm.
