, 69, of Worcester formerly of Waltham and Lowell died Sunday, June 20 at the U Mass Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in Wakefield on July 2, 1940 he was the son of the late Leslie J. and Lillian B. (Tierney)

Mr.
Jay
was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1959 and had earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He was a retired Special Security Supervisor for the MITRE Corporation in Bedford. Mr.
Jay
was a past Master of the Washington Lodge A.F & A.M. in Lexington, past District Deputy Grand Master of the Arlington 6th Masonic District, a life member of the District Deputy Grand Master's Association of MA, Masonic Awareness Officer at the Grand Lodge in Boston, the International Association's Legion of Honor, a Noble of the Bektash Shriner's Temple in Concord, New Hampshire and a member of the American Legion in Waltham. Mr.
Jay
served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was a cryptographer stationed in Karamursel, Turkey.

is survived by his wife Loretta (Lebel)

, his daughter Mary A.
Jay
of Worcester and his sister Adeline Goyette of Wakefield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr.
Jay
was predeceased by his six brothers; Irving, Leslie, Harold, Richard and Raymond
Jay
and Paul Beloff and his sister Helen Mullaney.
A funeral service will be held in the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon St, Wakefield on Thursday at 11am. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in East Chelmsford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions m ay be made to the Shriner's Hospital 51 Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
