Carol A. Arsenault, 79, of Lynnfield formerly of Saugus, died on Monday, August 19 at her residence.
Born in Swampscott on January 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosella (Bockus) Smiledge.
Mrs. Arsenault was raised and educated in Lynn. She had been a Saugus resident for over 20 years. Mrs. Arsenault worked as a laborer at a shoe factory in Lynn, a tannery in West Peabody and Marshall's in Woburn. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Arsenault enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid gambler at Twin River Casino.
She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Arsenault. Mrs. Arsenault is survived by her daughter Diane Rosenfield and her husband Lawrence of Lynnfield, her son John J. Robie of New Hampshire, her granddaughter Melinda Robie and her husband Michael Woodford, her three great grandchildren; Brynn Woodford, Mason Woodford, Penelope Woodford, her brother Carl Smiledge and his wife Agnes of Hubbardston and her sister Sharon Romano and her husband Frank of Wilmington. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Arsenault was predeceased by her sister Janice Sands.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday from 4-8pm. Her Funeral Service will be held in the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11am followed by an interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
