Carol Fraser

Carol Ann Sawin Fraser , of Burlington and formerly Stoneham, died at her home on Friday July 18th.

Born in Melrose on January 27, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Constance (LoPresti) Sawin.

Mrs. Fraser was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High school, class of 1958. She had been a resident of Burlington since 1967. She loved being a homemaker and because of her love for children, she had been a childcare provider since 1955 and later became the owner of Fraser Family Daycare of Burlington. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Malachy's Church and a member and president of their Morgairs group, their choir and a small faith group, and she taught C.C.D there for 21 years. She loved piano, knitting, crocheting, working with children and family vacations with her husband and her children. She later became "Nana" and was an integral part of supporting all her grandchildren's activities, in education, religion, and sport events.

Mrs. Fraser was the beloved wife of Alexander M. Fraser since 1961 and was the loving mother of David Fraser and his wife Kathy of Castle Rock, CO, Stephen Fraser of Stoneham, Thomas Fraser and his wife Jaime, Sandra Johnson and her husband John, and Cheryl Walker and her husband Jimmie all of Burlington. She was the sister of Fred and Cindy Sawin of Salem, NH, and Richard and Ruth Sawin of No. Reading. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bob, Tim, Douglas, Eric, Ryan, Scott, Natalie, Derrick, Ethan, Jacob, Meredith. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
