Carole Marie Curran , age 85, of Wakefield died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Brightview Senior Living in Wakefield.
Born in Wakefield on December 1, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Ulderico "Ted" and Mary (Haggerty) Petrucci.
Carole was raised and educated in Wakefield. She attended St. Joseph's Grammar School, graduating in 1949 and then went on to graduate from Wakefield High School, Class of 1953. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church was a board member for their St. Vincent de Paul Society. Carole was also on the Board of Directors at the Hartshorne House. She worked part-time for ten years at McDonough Liquors; but her most cherished role of all was as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
She was the beloved wife of Robert P. Curran , with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of David Curran and his wife Linda of Wilmington, Kathleen Brickley and her husband Stephen of Saugus, Kevin Curran and his wife Daphne of Derry, NH, and Nancy E. Hourihan and her husband John of Wakefield. She was the sister of Cynthia Blair, Lorelei MacKay, and Charles Petrucci. She was the adoring "Nana" of Brian Brickley, Jennifer Zerfas, Caitlin Furman, Derek, Jaimie, Melissa, and Matthew Curran , and Kayla and Kelly Hourihan. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Audrey and Finn Brickley, Daisy and Troy Zerfas, Harper Furman, and Robert Curran .
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Thursday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Interment will be private.
The Curran family would like to thank the Brightview aides and nurses and the All Care hospice nurses for all their loving care.

Covid-19 guidelines will be in effect. Those comfortable enough to attend will be required to wear a mask and are kindly asked to pay their respects and exit the building to allow for all visitors to greet the family.
